| The World Swing Dance Council is pleased to sponsor a national Swing Dance HALL OF FAME. Swing dancing has experienced explosive growth in the past two decades, which has elevated it from its primarily social dance roots to a vibrant profession and industry. The HALL OF FAME honors those swing dance enthusiasts whose long-time contributions and accomplishments have contributed to the growth and prestige of swing dancing | |||
| Through dancing, competing, teaching, judging and / or promoting, HALL OF FAME inductees shall have shown distinction in exemplifying the highest standards of leadership, ethical conduct, and local & national service, resulting in a body of work with a far reaching and significant impact on swing dancing. Beyond mere enjoyment and participation, they have given of themselves to their local swing dancers, the general public and the national swing dance community. They are an inspiration to all of us. | |||
| The WSDC built upon the Hall of Fame established by the previous national swing dance council, utilizing its structure and format in 2001; and maintaining those previous national Hall of Fame inductees as the foundation of the new Swing Dance HALL OF FAME. In 2002, the World Swing Dance Council researched and developed a comprehensive structure for criteria and selection. The format includes a Call For Nominations sent to all current WSDC members and existing inductees; and a select Electorate casting the final votes. | |||
